Dr. Zaheer Khan is a distinguished academician, population scientist, expertise in higher education, research, and institutional leadership. An alumnus of Aligarh Muslim University, he has played a pivotal role in shaping national and international academic collaborations, contributing to transformative projects in India’s education and public policy sectors. His work with esteemed institutions such as the University of North Carolina, Johns Hopkins University, UNICEF, and IIPS has been instrumental in advancing research, policy formulation, and curriculum development.
Dr. Khan has significantly contributed to demographic research, public health policies, and large-scale population studies, including key national initiatives such as NFHS-2 and NFHS-3, where he provided technical expertise on behalf of USAID. His research has influenced policy frameworks addressing population dynamics, health systems, and socio-economic development. His leadership in strategizing and implementing large-scale educational initiatives has helped universities enhance their global standing, research output, and community outreach.
Beyond academia, Dr. Khan is a dynamic administrator and visionary strategist, driving infrastructure development and digital transformation in education. His entrepreneurial acumen has enabled the creation of sustainable education models that integrate academic rigor with industry-driven innovation, ensuring students receive a holistic and future-ready learning experience.
Honoured with the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Award (2021) and Maulana Azad Award (2022), Dr. Khan is recognized among India’s top 100 educationists and population scientists.
